BOE Actions

In actions of the Board of Education Monday night:
The tentative employment of Stacy Barber’s replacement was announced. Scott Stephens will become Principal of Swainsboro Elementary. Stephens is coming from an Assistant Principal’s position in White County in north Georgia. Barber is transferring to the Central Office as Director of Technology.
Two policy changes that have lain on the table for 30 days will go into effect. Promotion and Retention of Students rules will reflect a change over to G-MAP, the Georgia Measurement of Achievement and Progress. Changes on tobacco use will extend the ban to visitors and add the possibility of disciplinary action for employee and student use.
The Board also approved pest control, janitorial, and transportation supply quotes.
