Child Porn arrest made
A Press Release from the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office:
The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office have teamed up for an investigation involving the downloading and sharing of child pornography from the internet.
According to Emanuel County Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens, investigators with his agency were contacted by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Effingham County after they discovered that Jim Lewis Clark, 37, of a Twin City address was downloading the explicit images and videos to a computer at his residence. During the investigation, Clark was arrested and a search warrant was executed at his residence. A computer was seized and found to contain more of the explicit digital files.
Clark is charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children and is currently being held without bond at the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Detention Center.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which was created by the U.S. Department of Justice to help state and local law enforcement agencies enhance their investigative response to offenders who use the internet and other computer technology to sexually exploit children. The entire program is currently composed of 61 task forces across the nation providing services to specific regional areas.
